Made for the transition. I built this VIP of my collaboration with Fulminate for my own DJ sets: the drum & bass version slaps, and the shared melody and vocals let me move from house into DnB—or back the other way—without breaking the musical thread. Now I’m releasing it so other DJs can use it too.
Built to bridge drum & bass and house
House and drum & bass move differently. House is anchored by a four-on-the-floor kick and a steadier club pulse, while drum & bass runs at a much faster tempo with break-driven drums, more urgent momentum and a different relationship between the bass and the beat. Jumping from one to the other can feel like a hard turn in a DJ set.
I produced this VIP to make that turn musical. The original all I need is you, my collaboration with Fulminate, is melodic house with emotional vocals. The VIP keeps the same central melody and recognizable vocal identity, but rebuilds the drums, tempo, bass movement and arrangement as melodic drum & bass.
Because both versions share the same musical DNA, I can match them together and use the pair as a transition tool. Moving from the house original into the VIP takes a set toward drum & bass; reversing the move brings it back toward house. The listener hears the same song carrying across the change even while the rhythmic language shifts underneath it.
That was the reason I made it in the first place: I wanted a practical bridge for my own sets, and the drum & bass version slaps. I’m releasing my VIP of the Fulminate collaboration so other DJs can work it into their transitions—and so listeners can hear the track hit from a completely different angle.
The VIP has its own artwork, ISRC and release identity because the beat, tempo, arrangement and production are materially different from the original.
